2 Drinks To Make For Your Next Party

When you are planning a party for people, one of the highlights of the party are some of the interesting beverages that you can serve. Dry ice is a great way to add some spark to a drink by giving it a light carbonation and an ethereal look. Here are 2 drink recipes that will help your next party be a success:

Sparkling Mint Limeade

  • 2/3 cup of lime juice
  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 6 cups of water
  • 1 cup of mint leaves, loosely packed
  • 1 pound of dry ice

Put the lime juice, sugar, water, and mint in a blender and mix until fully blended together. Place the limeade in a large vessel and add the dry ice. Loosely cover the vessel so that the dry ice adds carbonation to the mixture, but not so much that it causes the limeade to explode everywhere. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes and serve.

You can try additional variations of this limeade. Add a cup of raspberries before blending and make raspberry mint limeade. Another option is a more tropical version. Replace the cup of mint with a cup of mango pieces and replace 2 cups of water with coconut milk. Blend it as you normally would and prepare according to the recipe. Come up with other variations to surprise and delight your guests every single time.

Melon Cream Soda

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 6 cups of water
  • 1 Yubari King melon, cubed
  • 1 pound of dry ice
  • 1 tablespoon of heavy cream

Create a simple syrup by boiling 2 cups of sugar together with 1 cup of water. Keep it on a rolling boil until the syrup is clear. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Place it in a blender with the pieces of Yubari King melon and blend until smooth. Add the additional 5 cups of water, the tablespoon of cream, and blend until mixed. Put in a vessel and add the dry ice. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes for the dry ice to add carbonation to the mix and then serve.

Because a Yubari King melon can be difficult to find, you can substitute other flavors. Try a standard cantaloupe or a Tuscan melon instead for a similar flavor. If you want to go for a different option, add a cup of orange juice instead of melon to create a creamsicle soda.

Go purchase dry ice and the other ingredients, because these drinks will be a great addition to any gathering!
